Marine Wildlife Conservation (Cape RADD only)

Encountering the Ocean’s Icons

Join marine biologists on guided snorkel or scuba diving surveys through the vibrant kelp forests along the Cape coast. You'll assist in identifying fish and shark species and help collect data for ongoing ecological studies. This activity is part of a citizen science approach, making scientific work accessible and impactful for volunteers.

Assist in tracking and documenting the behavior of local shark and fish species using techniques like photo identification and underwater observation. You'll learn how individual animals are monitored over time and how their movement patterns are used in research. This hands-on experience not only builds field research skills, but also deepens your understanding of marine predator-prey dynamics and the importance of protecting key species.
