Biodiversity Lectures

Learning for life

What makes an ecosystem thrive? How do the diverse biomes of South Africa shape the wildlife within them? Which species call Dabchick home, and how do they interact with their environment?

Through a series of engaging lectures, you will gain a deep understanding of biodiversity conservation from our expert guides. Learning takes place in multiple settings - whether in the research camp, walking through the reserve, or during game drives - offering a hands-on approach to ecological education.

Once you’ve built a solid foundation, you’ll have the opportunity to explore advanced topics such as the impact of climate change on local ecosystems and species-specific conservation efforts like our Southern Ground Hornbill Project.

Beyond theory, you’ll also develop practical bush skills, learning how to identify key species, recognize the presence of snakes, spiders, and scorpions, and respond safely to wildlife encounters. This knowledge will not only enhance your experience in Dabchick but also prepare you for conservation adventures beyond the reserve.
